Players to watch on A-Day – Jam Miller
Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams are the two seniors who are expected to top the depth chart on A-Day. Alabama fans are also excited to see Haynes in his Crimson debut. But don’t forget about the sophomore running back out of Tyler (Tex.) Tyler Legacy.
Jam Miller only saw action in mop-up duty in 2022. A lot of that was due to an effective tandem consisting of Jahmyr Gibbs and McClellan though. Miller generated plenty of excitement in his limited action, rushing for 223 yards and two scores on just 33 carries. That was good for an impressive 6.76 yards per carry.

Miller was one of the better pass-catching running backs coming out of high school. We only saw him catch one pass as a freshman, but that was mostly due to the situations when he was on the field. I’d expect him to be more utilized in that area moving forward, but he don’t mislabel him as a change-of-pace option.
He also brings strength and power that allows him to be effective between the tackles. It was already on display when he was weighing in at 201 last season. I can’t wait to see how he’s carrying the 10 pounds he’s added (making him 211) so far this offseason. While everyone else mostly focuses on the other three running backs participating in A-Day, don’t forget about Miller.
