Wide Receiver (X)
3 Jermaine Burton (Jr.)
8 Tyler Harrell (Jr.)
17 Isaiah Bond (Fr.)
Reaction: Nick Saban has described Burton as Alabama’s “most consistent” receiver, and the expectation is that he’ll serve as the top option in the passing game. Harrell isn’t listed as a starter after transferring in from Louisville, but his speed is something that should find its way onto the field come game days. If he doesn’t end up with many early opportunities, look for him to get more involved as the season carries on.
Wide Receiver (H)
80 Kobe Prentice (Fr.)
12 Christian Leary (So.) OR 24 Emmanuel Henderson (Fr.)
Reaction: One of the big “wow” moments of the depth chart unveiling was Prentice being listed as a lone starter. He only arrived in the summer, so it’s been a quick climb for the former top-75 prospect. He’s one of the most intriguing new offensive guys. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Leary will be heavily involved in the offense, even with JoJo Earle out. We’ll have to wait and see. Henderson landing an “OR” status on the second team is also worth noting.
