Cornerback
Kool-Aid McKinstry – 72 snaps (97.3%)
Terrion Arnold – 51 snaps (68.9%)
Khyree Jackson – 20 snaps (27%)
Observations: Like we said early in fall camp, McKinstry has all but locked up a full-time role at one the cornerback spots. Granted, he was targeted eight times on Saturday, allowing six of those to be completed for 62 yards. Most of that damage came while covering Xavier Worthy (two catches, 23 yards) and Jordan Whittington (three catches, 38 yards).
Jackson got the start opposite McKinstry, but he struggled covering Worthy vertical. The sophomore receiver caught two passes for 68 yards before Jackson was replaced by Arnold in the lineup.

Arnold was a lot better, only allowing one catch for three yards on three targets. At the same time, we should note that Quinn Ewers had been forced out of the game by the time Arnold had come in. Would he have fared as well as the young gunslinger? We’ll never know, but I think he’ll be one getting the start opposite McKinstry next week.
I’m not sure if the lack of (non-existent) playing time for Eli Ricks on Saturday was injury related, but it feels like he’s behind the other three at the moment. This position remains a work in progress, but it needs to make significant strides in the coming weeks.
