BOL Basketball Show: Previewing historic Alabama-Auburn matchup

The Alabama men’s basketball team has won seven straight games, most recently claiming back-to-back wins away from Tuscaloosa over Arkansas (85-81) and Texas (103-80). 

The Crimson Tide held on to defeat the Hogs in Fayetteville before raining threes in Austin this week. UA shot nearly 60 percent from 3-point range versus the Longhorns and saw four players make three or more triples, including a career night for Jarin Stevenson (22 points).

Alabama (21-3, 10-1 SEC) avoided having a letdown before one of the biggest home games in school history. Ranked No. 2 in the AP Top 25 Poll this week, the Tide will welcome top-ranked Auburn to Coleman Coliseum on Saturday, February 15 (3 p.m. CT on ESPN). It will be the first meeting between SEC teams ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in both of the national polls.

All eyes will be on Tuscaloosa this weekend, even before the Iron Bowl of Basketball tips off. ESPN’s College GameDay will be in town for the second time ever for a basketball game, and the Crimson Tide and Tigers will battle for the No. 1 spot in the league’s standings.
