BOL Basketball Show: Tide rolls into top-6 matchup with Vols

No. 6 Alabama bounced back from a two-game losing streak to earn back-to-back victories over No. 17 Kentucky and No. 24 Mississippi State on its home floor in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The Crimson Tide defeated the Wildcats, 96-83, behind a 30-point performance from veteran guard Mark Sears. Also turning in strong showings were guard Aden Holloway (19 points) and center Clifford Omoruyi (11 points, 15 rebounds) in a season sweep of Kentucky.
The next game out, Alabama put together one of its best outings of the 2024-25 campaign, by dominating the Bulldogs, 111-73. Sears produced his second double-double of the year (21 points, 10 assists), while Chris Youngblood led the Tide with 27 points. As a team, UA shot 49 percent from 3-point range (22-45), its most treys since the 2021-22 season.

Alabama (23-5, 12-3) turns its attention to a brutal 3-game stretch to end the regular season, which features matchups with three of the nation’s top-five teams. Up first for the Tide is a trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, to take on the No. 5 Vols for the first time this year.
