Coaching staff selects 5 Players of the Week following Florida game
On Saturday, the Alabama football team was tested for the first time this season in a road game against a top-10 Florida team. Fortunately, the Crimson Tide came out on top in the 31-29 contest.
On Monday, five guys were named the Players of the Week by the Alabama coaching staff. Of those five players, two came on offense, two on defense and one on special teams.
Offense
RB Jase McClellan: Excellent performance as a receiving back (4 catches, 41 yards, TD). Only averaged 1.9 yards per carry, but helped grind out tough yardage late to secure a win.
RB Brian Robinson: Led the team in carries (14) and rushing yards (75). Added a receiving touchdown on his lone catch while teaming up with McClellan to help secure a victory late.

Defense
LB Will Anderson: Produced seven total tackles while also setting a career-high in tackles for loss (3.5). Also added a QB hurry, all of which he was able to due playing through a minor knee injury.
*Note: Will Anderson was also named the SEC Player of the Week for his performance against Florida.
DL Phidarian Mathis: Set a personal career-high in tackles (7), plus added a tackle for loss, sack and another QB hurry. Mathis has 2.5 sacks through the first three games, which leads the team.
Special Teams
DB Jordan Battle: Made a tackle on the opening kickoff tackle to pin Florida on its own 17-yard line.
