Coaching staff selects Players of the Week for New Mexico St. game
The Alabama football team got things back on track this past weekend with a 59-3 victory over New Mexico State. Yes, the Crimson Tide were heavy favorites, but it was still an impressive performance nonetheless.
For their performances in the game, 10 different Alabama guys were named Players of the Week by the coaching staff. That includes three on offense, three on defense and four on special teams.
Here are those 10 players:
Offense
OT Evan Neal: Didn’t allow a sack or hurry in the 44 plays he was on the field. Also recorded three knockdown blocks and didn’t commit a single penalty.
RB Brian Robinson: Converted his nine carries into a team-high 99 rushing yards with a career-long TD run of 63 yards. Also added five catches for another 36 yards through the air.
QB Bryce Young: Completed 21 of his 23 pass attempts (91.3%) for 270 yards and tied a career-high five touchdown passes. Started the game with 13-straight completions.
Defense
OLB Will Anderson: Added two more sacks to his season total, putting it at 12.5, while also being a disruptive presence for a majority of his snaps. Continues to prove he’s one of the best defensive players in the country.
CB Jalyn Armour-Davis: Led Alabama in tackles with six while also tagging on another pass breakup. Helped keep New Mexico State’s passing attack in check, as the Aggies only had 129 yards passing.
DB Jordan Battle: Was second on the defense in tackles with five while playing one of his best games this season. Continues to get stronger and stronger as the season goes on.

Special Teams
WR Slade Bolden: Was an impact return man, combining for 37 yards on two punt returns and 15 yards one kickoff return. Also added one catch for 13 yards as a wide receiver.
RB/LB Demouy Kennedy: Made a key tackle on kickoff coverage that pinned New Mexico State on its own six-yard line. Also played running back, racking up 16 yards on seven carries.
RB/WR Christian Leary: Blocked a punt that was recovered by the Crimson Tide and returned 20 yards. Also was in the mix at running back, totaling 22 yards on four touches.
CB Devonta Smith: Saw more action on special teams, proving his worth by making a tackle on kickoff coverage. Helped limit the Aggies to only 18 return yards on the day.
Alabama will host the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS. The Crimson Tide are currently 20.5-point favorites for that game, according to VegasInsider.com.
