Good morning, Alabama fans, and welcome to the Crimson and Coffee. Football will always be our focus, but every day we’ll cover news, notes and analysis from across Crimson Tide sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Alabama football, recruiting, basketball and more in Crimson and Coffee.

Alabama Soccer

The news wasn’t all good for Alabama Athletics over the weekend. Tide soccer lost at Memphis, 3-1. Leah Kunde scored the Bama goal. Hopefully, they took in a trip to Graceland or ate ribs at the place the ducks walk around. Alabama (3-3) will host No. 6 TCU this Thursday night and admission is free.

Alabama Volleyball

The Tide ladies won a tournament it hosted over the weekend, defeating Buffalo, then Southern Miss. Sami Jacobs was named MVP.  She is just a freshman, y’all! Alabama is now 5-1. Bama will play at Kennesaw State on Tuesday.

A Second Quarterback?

Two potentially unrelated events in the recruitment of Pinson Valley’s QB, Zach Pyron over the weekend. First, Zach was an invited guest to the Tide’s opener in Atlanta in which Alabama dismantled Miami, 44-13. Second, on Sunday evening, Pyron decommitted from Baylor. Related? Let’s call it ‘somewhat possible’.

The Tide only has 3 scholarship QBs with none anticipated to leave following the season. Four is a better number, especially in the Portal Era.  Zach was a standout at the Elite Eleven camp over the summer and his stock has steadily climbed. However, it has been uncommon for Alabama to take two QBs in one class and the Tide is quite thrilled with landing 5 star Ty Simpson earlier in the cycle.

Bryce Young Blurb

We are going to start our day on Crimson and Coffee talking about Bryce Young frequently. Yes, you can almost count on there being a Bryce Blurb nearly daily. Today’s? Caesar’s Sportsbook in Las Vegas now features Bryce atop their Heisman Odd’s board. No Tide QB has ever won the Heisman. And no, Auburn fans, the trophy is not actually Bryce’s size, that was mean. Cut that out. Go play Akron again.
