Good morning, Alabama fans, and welcome to the Crimson and Coffee. Football will always be our focus, but every day we’ll cover news, notes and analysis from across Crimson Tide sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Alabama football, recruiting, basketball and more in Crimson and Coffee.

Tide Tennis

Alexa Guarachi, former Bama tennis star, has reached the semi-finals of the US Open in the women’s doubles draw! That’s a major achievement. At a major.

Nick Goes Viral Again

It seems each time Coach Saban gets upset with his team at his weekly press conference, the video spreads like wildfire. It also seems this happens when two facts converge: (1) the public has penciled Alabama into the CFP final, and (2) the upcoming opponent is a 50-point underdog.

There’s your recipe for a storm … hot air hits cold air.

Justice Finkley Day

One of the more dramatic recruitments in the ‘22 cycle comes to an end today. Hewitt-Trussville’s Justice Finkley will announce his choice today at 4:15 p.m. CT between Alabama, Texas and Colorado. He strongly hinted via his Twitter account the choice would be Alabama but because the cards were kept close to the vest, said hints have only added to the drama.

We will all find out together today. Finkley is a consensus top-10 in-state prospect with plans to become a neurosurgeon following his athletics career.

Opening Night

The NFL returns to action tonight with the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys. The Bucs are a 7.5-point favorite.  The TV ratings will be jaw-dropping. The most-watched sport, plus opening night, plus Tom Brady, plus America’s team, plus no new fall TV shows up against it. Goodness.

But this is how Alabama fans watch the NFL:

“Hey guys, tonight on TV, Trevon Diggs and Amari Cooper are playing OJ Howard!”

The Raiders and the Patriots lead the NFL with five former Alabama players each under contract.

Bama On3 Show

Be sure to give a listen to the most recent BamaOn3 Show. Clint Lamb welcomed Nikki Chavanelle to the program and she gave us an excellent rundown of the Tide’s recruiting efforts.

Today a new episode will record with Clint inviting Jimmy as well as guest star, Brad Edwards, formerly of ESPN. Brad will discuss his book, perhaps the most interesting book yet regarding the Nick Saban Dynasty at Alabama.
