The Crimson Tide lost to Troy, 3-1.  The deciding set was 32-30, with the Tide falling just short of forcing a deciding 5th set.  SEC Defensive Player of the Week Dru Kuck continued her good work with 17 digs.  Bama actually out-hit and out-blocked Troy but … lost.  Alabama hosts Buffalo on Friday night. Let’s see if Nate Oats and family swing by.

Opening Thursday Night of CFB

Of huge interest to Tide football fans, last night was the first Thursday of the season featuring multiple games. Four ranked teams played, including #4 Ohio State, who struggled against Minnesota, eventually winning by 14.  The Buckeyes’ defense looks to be a work-in-progress but offensively, one of the nation’s best collection of skill players play behind a dominating offensive line.

UCF, down 21, came back to defeat Boise State in Orlando. Gus Malzahn over Bryan Harsin? Well, no, but still.

Tennessee didn’t always look pretty, but managed to beat Bowling Green, 38-6. Joe Milton did not impress Coffee and Crimson. But it was Game One.

Brian Branch may replace Hellams at safety, assuming he is not a go.

The Alabama Football family lost two treasured members yesterday … former Tide linemen and Coach Jim Fuller and All American Keith McCants passed away.
