Date revealed for Alabama basketball's home game vs. Creighton
The second game in Alabama’s home-and-home series with Creighton now has a date.
The Bluejays will make a return trip to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide inside Coleman Coliseum on Saturday, Dec. 14, according to college basketball analyst Rocco Miller. The two teams met this past year in Omaha, Nebraska, where Creighton – who was ranked No. 8 in the nation at the time – escaped with an 85-82 victory on its home court.
The 2024 meeting in Tuscaloosa will mark the fourth-ever matchup between the Crimson Tide and Bluejays. Before the 2023 campaign, the first two meetings were in the postseason. UA lost to Creighton in the 2016 NIT and in the 2012 NCAA Tournament before that.
Creighton finished the 2023-24 season with a 24-10 (14-6 Big East) record and earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Outside of league plays, the Bluejays claimed wins over two Power 6 teams (Oklahoma State and Nebraska) and also defeated national champion UConn, 85-66. But Creighton’s season ended in the Elite Eight with an 82-75 loss to Tennessee.
The Bluejays were led by South Dakota State transfer Baylor Scheierman, who averaged 18.5 points per game in Year 2 in Omaha. Two other players averaged 17 or more points per game for Creighton in 2023-24 – Trey Alexander and Ryan Kalkbrenner. CU received welcomed news this week as Kalkbrenner plans to return for the Bluejays’ 2024-25 campaign.

A tipoff time and television channel for Alabama-Creighton will be revealed at a later date.
This is the second of two return games for Alabama basketball. The Tide will also face Arizona in Birmingham in the non-conference portion of its 2024-25 slate. The two teams met in Phoenix last year with the Wildcats posting an 87-74 win. UA should participate in the second-annual ACC/SEC Challenge, but the matchups for it have to be announced.
Alabama has been linked to a game against St. John’s in Madison Square Garden, as well as an NIL tournament in Las Vegas, but neither early-season matchup has been confirmed.
