Alabama made a strong push for Caleb Odom following March offer
Looking at Nick Saban and his staff’s pursuit of Odom, Alabama welcomed him on campus for their junior day on March 4. That visit ultimately resulted in an offer to Odom, who referred to that experience as “surreal.”

Odom would go on to put the Tide in his top 12 in early April, then his top seven on May 12.
Alabama played host to Odom for an official visit the first weekend of June. Following his multi-day stay in Tuscaloosa, Odom named Bama as his leader after seeing how he’d be utilized by the team and also their lack of a tight end commit in this class thus far.
Odom later took official visits to Auburn, Florida, Miami, and Texas A&M in the month of June.
Don’t Miss: BamaOnLine’s Official Prediction for Caleb Odom
Area recruiter Robert Gillespie and position coach Joe Cox have led Alabama’s pursuit of Odom. The highly coveted pass catcher recently spoke with On3 about each of his finalists, including the Crimson Tide.
“It’s Alabama. I’d get the chance to be coached by some of the greatest coaches in the world,” Odom recently told On3. “The history that they have is big. They’ve put out players into the NFL. They send five at least every year. Right now, they have no 2024 tight end committed. A big factor in my recruitment is an opportunity to play early. That’s why Alabama is in there still. Who wouldn’t want to be coached by one of the greatest coaching staffs in the world?”
Whoever lands Odom on Saturday night will be getting one of the top rising seniors in the country. Per On3, Odom is the No. 28 overall player in the Class of 2024. On3 also tabs him as the second-ranked tight end and the No. 4 player in the state of Georgia.
Alabama currently holds the No. 4 overall class on the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
