Alabama has made a strong impression on Casey Poe and his family

Both position coach Eric Wolford and area recruiter Holmon Wiggins have been heavily involved in the pursuit of Casey Poe.

Alabama dipped into the mix for Poe’s recruitment back on Nov. 26 of last year. Poe earned an offer during his Iron Bowl visit, eventually returning to Tuscaloosa for a mid-April unofficial visit. His parents, cousin, and grandfather accompanied him on that multi-day trip to Bama in April.

“What sticks out to me is the same things that stick out to everyone else when it comes to Alabama,” Poe told BOL’s Andrew Bone after the visit. “They are a top-tier program. Everything they do is done at the highest level. Every player knows exactly what they should be doing to be successful. Every player I spoke with talked about the passion they have every day to get better. It’s the type of culture you want to be around. They have the will power to want to be great. Alabama is an extremely good school in everything they do.”

That trip led to the Tide earning an official visit from Poe for the weekend of June 23-25. Toby Poe, his father, had high marks for the program when recapping that visit.

“It’s the culture,” Casey’s father previously said. “It’s the accountability. They know how to do it. They hold kids to a higher standard. The staff has a personal relationship with their players. That’s what’s impressive.

“They’ve been there and done that. People want to say Coach Saban won’t be coaching much longer. They’re not done. He wants to be the best they can be and win championships. It was so impressive to see how they treat us as parents and how they treat the kids.

Whoever lands Casey Poe on Wednesday will be getting one of the nation’s top rising seniors. The 2024 On300 tabs Poe not only as the top-ranked interior o-lineman, but also the No. 38 player overall. He’s also the No. 9 recruit in the state of Texas.

As of publishing this article, Alabama holds the No. 4 class on the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
