Decision Preview: Alabama or Ohio State for transfer TE target CJ Dippre?
A week after Alabama signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country and added a handful of five-stars to the fold, the program may be in for another gift. On Tuesday, transfer tight end target CJ Dippre, who has Bama as a finalist, will announce where he will be playing at his next stop.
Dippre officially entered the transfer portal on Dec. 5, and immediately collected several offers. The former Maryland tight end got the green light from Illinois, N.C. State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, and West Virginia. Alabama dipped into the Dippre race after hosting him for an official visit from Dec. 9-11.
Here are the details for Dippre’s announcement, as well as an assessment of where he is currently trending.
Commitment Date: Dec. 27
Finalists: Alabama and Ohio State
Time: 9:00 a.m. Central
How Dippre will announce: Dippre is expected to announce tomorrow’s decision on his Twitter or his Instagram.

Who is trending for Alabama transfer target CJ Dippre?
CJ Dippre was productive when targeted in Maryland’s passing attack. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder hauled in 30 receptions for 314 yards in his 2022 campaign, with three of those catches being touchdowns.
Dippre, who will have two years of eligibility remaining, had touchdowns against Michigan and Ohio State last season.
So, will Alabama land the former Big Ten player come Tuesday morning?
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Bama appears to be in a good position to land Dippre’s commitment. The On3 RPM gives the Crimson Tide a 91.8 percent chance of adding Dippre to the fold. That number is high as a result of BamaInsider Director of Recruiting Andrew Bone submitting a prediction in favor of Alabama this week.
As soon as Dippre received an offer from Bama on Dec. 11, it was clear that the school would be a top option for him. Dippre told BamaInsider the following shortly after posting his Alabama offer.

“It was awesome,” Dippre previously told us. “I called my dad and he got pretty emotional. Just the road I’ve been through. Not being highly recruited out of high school and going somewhere to play for two years. Now, having the opportunity to play with one of the best programs in the country.
“They’re going to try to compete for a championship every year,” Dippre added. “You’re going against the best in the country every day in practice. That’s definitely a big factor in it.”
Dippre also discussed with us the message he received from tight ends coach Joe Cox on his visit.
“We were able to break down the film and tell me what he thinks I can do and where I can get a little better at,” Dippre said. “Obviously, they are thin at that position. They have some great player leaving, so I can come in and make an impact early if I keep my head down and grind.”
Tuesday could potentially be another big day for Alabama. Stay tuned to BamaInsider tomorrow morning to see if Bama is able to land Dippre!
