One of the top remaining defensive targets on Alabama’s 2023 board will make his decision soon. Jordan Renaud, who hails from Tyler (Tx.), will announce his decision on Monday morning.

Who is trending for Alabama target Jordan Renaud ahead of his decision?
Although Renaud announced his commitment date over a month ago, he just recently made up his mind. The Lone Star State recruit told On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman that he and his family came to a decision this past Wednesday.
Renaud has a final two in place, but one program appears to have the clear edge heading into commitment day.
Per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Alabama Crimson Tide have a 97.8 percent chance of landing the talented pass rusher. Four On3 expert predictions have been submitted in favor of Alabama, including one on Thursday from BamaInsider Director of Recruiting Andrew Bone.
He has not spoken with the media too often since July, but we did recently have a chance to catch up with Renaud. The sought-after senior says the Tide’s winning tradition is a key reason why they’re a finalist for him.
“Alabama is in the final two because I feel like they’ve been a perennial powerhouse since I was born,” Renaud told us after his game on Sept. 9. “They’ve been very prominent in college football and I like the way they win.”

ICYMI: Coveted 2023 DL Jordan Renaud opens up about Alabama ahead of upcoming decision
Alabama regularly puts defensive linemen into the NFL, with that list including Jarran Reed, Jonathan Allen, Quinnen Williams and, most recently, Phidarian Mathis. The program’s development of players at the position group has caught Renaud’s attention.
“I feel like, as far as d-line goes, they’re producing d-linemen,” Renaud said. “That’s ‘D-Line U.’ That’s a d-line factory. They’re going to produce d-linemen. It doesn’t really take much; it just takes what’s between the ears.”
Per the 2023 On3 Consensus, Renaud is the No. 67 overall prospect in this recruiting cycle. He’s also labeled as the ninth-ranked EDGE and the No. 12 senior in Texas; Renaud is listed as an EDGE on his On3 profile, but will be a defensive end at the next level.
Alabama currently has 21 commitments in its 2023 class. That ranks No. 1 nationally per the 2023 Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
Stay tuned on Monday morning to see if the Crimson Tide will land commit No. 22. They could potentially add another member to the class next week as elite wide receiver Jalen Hale will announce his decision on Wednesday.
