Alabama issued its final availability report before its SEC Tournament matchup with Kentucky.

Senior guards Latrell Wrightsell (Achilles) and Houston Mallette (knees) were all ruled out and will not play against the Wildcats. But freshman forward Derrion Reid (hamstring) was listed as questionable on Thursday’s initial availability report. On the final availability report on Friday evening, however, Reid was listed as a game-time decision against Florida.

ESPN senior writer Pete Thamel reported there is “strong optimism” that he will play tonight.

Before leaving for Nashville, head coach Nate Oats provided a positive update on Reid.

“Derrion was able to practice in some limited capacity but wasn’t doing 5-on-5 stuff,” Oats said. “Provided he has another good day (Thursday) morning in practice, hopefully he’ll be cleared to play for the weekend, which would be great. It would give us a little bit more depth if we’re fortunate enough to end up playing three games in a row.”

Reid hasn’t played in a game since Alabama’s home loss to Auburn on February 15. The true freshman has appeared in 18 games during his rookie year, making three starts, but has missed a total of 13 contests. Reid is averaging 7.1 points and 3.2 rebounds this season.

The No. 3-seed Crimson Tide (24-7, 13-5 SEC) and No. 6-seed Wildcats (22-10, 10-8) will face off at Bridgestone Arena. The game will start 25 minutes after the 6 p.m. CT matchup between Florida and Missouri ends. The quarterfinal matchup will air on the SEC Network.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

Prior to an SEC basketball game, an institution must issue the Initial Report the night before a game by 7 p.m. CT (or, for an institution that played a game the day before, by 11:00 am local time the day of the game, or two hours before the game starts, whichever is earlier).

On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time. On the Game Day Update, the only permissible designation statuses are:

• Available – Will dress for the game and be available to play

• Game Time Decision – Coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game

• Out – Not dressing or available for the game
