Alabama issued its final availability report before its home game against Vanderbilt.

Senior guards Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (Achilles) and Houston Mallette (knees) were both listed as out and will not play against the Commodores. Alabama freshman forward Derrion Reid, listed as questionable on yesterday’s initial report, is also out with a lower-body injury.

Alabama head coach Nate Oats offered an update on Reid last night during Hey Coach.

“Hopefully we get Derrion back here quick,” Oats said on Monday night. “He’s been doing more and more in practice. We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow morning, and if he doesn’t go tomorrow, hopefully worst-case scenario is he’s back by Saturday.”

Reid has played in 15 of Alabama’s 18 games this season, missing the South Dakota State, Ole Miss and Kentucky contests. The freshman has been in the starting lineup three times this year, including the first two games of the Crimson Tide’s 2024-25 season, and is averaging 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field.

With Reid, Mallette and Wrightsell out – and Naas Cunningham redshirting this year – Alabama will be down to nine available scholarship players for its game against Vanderbilt.

The No. 4-ranked Crimson Tide (15-3, 4-1 SEC) and Commodores (15-3, 3-2) are scheduled to face off at Coleman Coliseum. The matchup will tip off at 6 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.

SEC Availability Report Policies

Beginning with the 2024-25 athletics season, all Southeastern Conference schools will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in each conference game in the sports of football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

Prior to an SEC basketball game, an institution must issue the Initial Report the night before a game by 7 p.m. CT (or, for an institution that played a game the day before, by 11:00 am local time the day of the game, or two hours before the game starts, whichever is earlier).

On game day, an institution must provide one Game Day Update no later than 90 minutes before game time. On the Game Day Update, the only permissible designation statuses are:

• Available – Will dress for the game and be available to play

• Game Time Decision – Coaches and/or medical personnel need to evaluate the athlete in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he can participate in the game

• Out – Not dressing or available for the game
