Elite 2023 RB Justice Haynes shocks recruiting world, commits to Alabama
One of the biggest surprises in the recruiting world for the Class of 2023 just transpired.
On Sunday, elite 2023 running back Justice Haynes announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Haynes chose Alabama over Florida, Ohio State and, most notably, the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.
This is a shocking development as Haynes is a Bulldogs legacy and is a product of the Peach State. Alabama, however, stayed persistent in their pursuit and never let Haynes feel like he wasn’t a priority for the program.
Per the 2023 On3 Consensus, Haynes is the No. 45 overall player in this recruiting cycle. He’s also the fourth-ranked running back and the No. 2 rising senior in the state of Georgia.
We will have more on this massive pickup for the Crimson Tide and what it means for their recruiting efforts in the 2023 class.

Scouting Summary on Alabama RB commit Justice Haynes
“Well-rounded, highly productive running back with few holes in his game,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote of Justice Haynes. “Has a developed, muscled frame at around 5-foot-11, 195 pounds. One of the more productive rushers in the 2023 cycle. Rushed for 2,375 yards and 29 touchdowns at 8.8 yards per carry as a junior. Has amassed over 5,800 yards and 72 rushing touchdowns through the first three years of his high school career. Has a strong base. Runs with high-level contact balance, regularly running through arm tackles and bouncing off defenders at the second level.
“Shows good vision as a runner, making decisive reads and cuts at the line of scrimmage,” Power continued. “Burst and top-end speed (electronically-timed 4.66 second 40-yard dash as a sophomore) are above average but not elite. Catches the ball well out of the backfield as a receiver. A rock solid running back prospect with a high floor. Has a NFL pedigree with his father playing in the league after a career as a running back at Georgia.”
