Alabama is on a roll on the recruiting trail.

Since the start of June, Nick Saban‘s program has added eight players to their 2024 class, and two top-100 recruits to their 2025 class. On Saturday, dynamic wideout Jaime Ffrench became the latest prospect to commit to the Crimson Tide. Ffrench chose Bama over nearby Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Penn State.

The Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin product worked out at Alabama in June 2022, earning an offer on the day of his camp. He later returned to Tuscaloosa for their March 4 Junior Day and last month as well. Ffrench says Saban and the rest of the staff were thrilled when he delivered them the good news.

“It was great,” Ffrench told BamaOnLine. “Hearing that excitement from the coaches. Also, hearing them pumped up about me… They worked hard in trying to recruit me to commit. Now that it actually happened, they were excited. Can’t wait for me to come in and get me back on campus.

“It feels like family. Every time I come in, it feels like home,” Ffrench continued. “That’s all I really wanted in my recruitment process. I think I made a big step in my recruitment, and I’m proud and happy about it.”

There is still well over a year left until Ffrench will put pen to paper on National Signing Day. He explained why now was the right time for him to commit and join the Crimson Tide’s class.

“I’d definitely say locking in that spot,” Ffrench said. “Being with them and letting them know that I’m locked in. They showed me the most love in my recruitment, so I thought it was only right to commit.”

The primary recruiters in Alabama’s pursuit of Ffrench were area recruiter Joe Cox and position coach Holmon Wiggins. Ffrench felt the love from both coaches and the rest of the staff on each of his previous trips to Bama.

So, did Ffrench know ahead of his June 6 visit last month that he would wind up committing to the Tide?

“I actually did not,” Ffrench said. “Just feeling the love every time I came. Also, being around the coaches even more. They always want to push you to be the best. Why not be around that?”

Jaime Ffrench is ready to team up with Ryan Williams at Alabama

With Ffrench now in the fold, Alabama has assembled one of the top wide receiver duos in the country, regardless of class. Ffrench, the nation’s No. 4 wideout, will play alongside Ryan Williams, the top-ranked receiver in the 2025 cycle.

Ffrench is ready to team up with Williams at the next level.

“It’s going to be dangerous,” Ffrench said. “With Julian [Sayin] at quarterback, it’s going to be dangerous. Bring that culture back that they had with Tua [Tagovailoa], [Jerry] Jeudy, and all those guys. Bringing that culture back definitely helps Alabama and the coaching staff.”

Interestingly enough, Ffrench already had a chance to catch passes from Sayin at last month’s Elite 11 Finals. The two immediately connected with each other and had chemistry on deep throws.

“It was great,” Ffrench told us after the event. “Who knows? You might see that in the future… Julian, he can spin it. He’s a great quarterback. Just stands out. You saw it for yourself. He’s got a great arm on him.”

Ffrench intends on recruiting some top talent to join him in Tuscaloosa as well.

“I don’t have anybody in mind yet, but I’m definitely going to recruit,” Ffrench said. “I’m going to start reaching out and getting some guys rolling. That Florida pipeline.”

One superlative to describe Ffrench is competitive.

Ffrench competed at a handful of 7-on-7 events this year, and was one of the few blue-chip skill position players at the Elite 11 Finals in California. After missing the Atlanta Under Armour Camp in February, Ffrench wanted to make it up by attending the UC Report camp in South Carolina two months later.

He wants Bama fans to know that they’re getting a hard worker when he arrives on campus.

“It’s up,” Ffrench said of his message to Alabama’s fan base. “When I get in, we’re going to run it up. We’re going to work. You’re going to get the best of the best.”
