Five-star freshman OT Tyler Booker switching numbers
Freshman offensive tackle Tyler Booker is switching his number. On Wednesday morning, the five-star newcomer tweeted out a picture of him wearing the No. 52. The post was also accompanied with a “It’s a New Era” caption, suggesting a permanent move after wearing No. 54 throughout the spring.
Check it out.
The timing for the announcement was perfect, as we’re only 52 days away from Alabama taking the field against Utah State. With Booker only being on campus since January, that Sept. 3 kickoff game will be his first in a Crimson Tide uniform.
The decision to make the switch also clears the way for transfer offensive tackle Tyler Steen to wear the No. 54, which is the same number he wore for four years at Vanderbilt. As of right now, Steen is projected to be the starting left tackle for Alabama.
Booker, on the other hand, worked as the second-team right tackle.
