The majority of Alabama commitments will suit up this week for critical games on their schedule. There are heavyweight showdowns, region/district/league games; some who are hoping to remain undefeated and others looking to bounce back from losses.

Linebacker commit Sterling Dixon powered through a shoulder injury on Thursday, and helped his Spanish Fort teammates secure a 41-19 win over McGill-Toolen.

BOL provides a closer look at other Alabama commitments in action this weekend.

Five-Star Plus+ QB Julian SayinCarlsbad High School (Calif.): The No. 4 overall prospect in the 2024 class is looking to help his team stay undefeated. On Friday night, Carlsbad (7-0) will travel to Torrey Pines (5-2) for another league contest. Sayin missed last week’s game with an ankle sprain, but is expected to be back against Torrey Pines.

Sayin has completed 94-of-118 passing attempts (79.7%) with 15 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also has 19 rushing attempts for 135 yards and two touchdowns.

No. 1 ATH Jaylen Mbakwe, Clay-Chalkville High School (Ala.): Following a bye week, the Clay-Chalkville Cougars (6-0) return to the field this Friday. The program will head to Huffman HS (0-7) for a regional away game, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.

No. 1 TE Caleb Odom and ’26 OL Zykie HeltonCarrollton High School (Ga.): For the first time since Sept. 15, Carrollton HS (6-1) will play at home. The Trojans will take on Pebblebrook (2-5) in a regional game on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Odom currently has 26 receptions for 465 yards (17.9 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns. He is expected to return to Alabama for Saturday’s game versus Arkansas.

Alabama Recruiting Notebook: Visitors returning to T-Town (On3+)

No. 1 Interior OL Casey PoeLindale High School (Texas): After back-to-back wins, Lindale fell to Kilgore HS last week. The Eagles (3-4) will look to bounce back against Chapel Hill (6-0) on Friday night. This will be a home game for Lindale.

Top 100 CB Zabien Brown, Santa Ana (Calif.), Mater Dei High School and Top 100 S Peyton WoodyardBellflower (Calif.), St. John Bosco High School: This Friday night will feature one of the top high school football games not only of the week, but of the season. St. John Bosco (6-1) will play host to Mater Dei (7-0) in a powerhouse contest that is always must-see television. St. John Bosco’s roster features Alabama safety commit Peyton Woodyard, while Mater Dei has cornerback pledge Zabien Brown on their roster.

Top 100 DL Jeremiah Beaman, Birmingham (Ala.), Parker High School: The Thundering Herd (6-1) will play at Mountain Brook HS (5-1) on Friday night. That contest has a kickoff time of 7:00 p.m.

Four-star WR Rico Scott, Harrisburg (Pa.), Bishop McDevitt High School: Just like Julian Sayin’s Carlsbad Lancers, Bishop McDevitt has started the season 7-0. For the second straight week, the Crusaders will play on the road. This week, they’ll take on Red Land HS on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Four-star WR Amari Jefferson, Chattanooga (Tenn.), Baylor High School: After a bye week, Baylor School is back on the field. The Red Raiders will play host to Life Christian Academy (0-5) on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Four-star S Red Morgan and three-star DL Isaia Faga, Phenix City (Ala.) Central: The Red Devils (6-0) will look to stay undefeated when they take on Percy Julian (3-3). This contest will be played on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

According to MaxPreps, Faga has 31 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks this season. Morgan has 18 total tackles, two interceptions, and a pair of pass deflections. Because of the time of this game, both will not be at Alabama’s home game on Saturday.

Four-star interior OL William Sanders, Brookwood High School (Ala.): Brookwood (1-5) will play host to Paul W. Bryant (2-4) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This will be a regional game for the Panthers.

Four-star interior OL Joseph Ionata, Clearwater (Fla.), Calvary Christian Academy: The Warriors (4-2) have put together three straight wins after a 1-2 start to the season. They’ll next take on Clearwater (4-2) at home on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Three-star TE Jay Lindsey, Butler (Ala.), Patrician Academy: Patrician Academy (4-3) saw their three-game win streak snapped with a loss to Lowndes Academy last week. The Saints will look to bounce back on Friday at home against Escambia Academy (3-4), with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.

Three-star S Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Gadsden (Ala.) City High School: After beating Hazel Green 69-0 last week, Gadsden City will play host to Mae Jemison (2-5) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Kirkpatrick had an interception in last week’s win.

Three-star LB Quinton Reese, Birmingham (Ala.), Ramsay High School: Reese and his Ramsay HS teammates (5-2) will head to John Carroll Catholic (5-1) on Friday. Kickoff for this regional game is set for 7:00 p.m.

Punter Anderson Green (Preferred Walk-On), Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge High School: Northridge (1-5) will play host to Central High School out of Tuscaloosa (4-3) on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

2025 Alabama Commitments

Five-Star WR Ryan Williams and ’25 four-star DL Antonio Coleman, Saraland High School (Ala.): Saraland has started off their season with a 7-0 record. They’ll look to improve to 8-0 when they play host to Baldwin County (1-5) on Friday night. This will be a home regional game for the Spartans.

So far this season, Williams has 29 receptions for 607 yards (20.9 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns to go along with his three rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, Coleman has 33 total tackles and 12 tackles for loss.

Top 100 WR Jamie Ffrench, Jacksonville (Fla.), Mandarin High School: Mandarin (5-2) responded to back-to-back losses with a 43-point win over Westside last week. The Mustangs will play host to Fleming Island (2-4) on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

Ffrench has 27 receptions for 618 yards and eight touchdowns so far in his junior season.

Four-star RB Anthony Rogers, IMG Academy in Bradenton (Fla.): The IMG Academy Ascenders (5-0) will host Pine Forest (4-3) on Friday night. It will be their first home game since Sept. 15.

Rogers had five rushes for 56 yards and a touchdown against Bartram Trail last week.

ICYMI: Alabama ’25 RB pledge is all in with the Tide (On3+)

Four-star OL Mason Short, Evans High School in Georgia: Evans High School (3-3) will play host to Effingham County (4-3) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Alabama commitments not in action: CB Jameer Grimsley (foot injury), LB Justin Okoronkwo (season over), as well as LB commit Cayden Jones and ’25 OL pledge Dontrell Glover (team byes).
