Alabama Following the Future

All but one of Alabama’s football commitments taking the gridiron this week are set to participate in postseason play. Nearly two dozen future Crimson Tide players and their respective teams will continue their playoff runs this week.

BamaOnLine provides a look at the upcoming playoff schedule on Friday for Bama’s commits.

No. 1 ATH Jaylen Mbakwe, Clay-Chalkville High School (Ala.): The Cougars (10-0; 6-0 in region play) will have a neutral site playoff game against Mountain Brook (8-3) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the second round of the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs.

Clay-Chalkville beat Cullman 49-6 last week.

No. 1 TE Caleb Odom and ’26 OL Zykie HeltonCarrollton High School (Ga.): Carrollton (10-1; 4-0 in region play) has a home playoff game versus Valdosta (8-3) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. It is the second round of the 2023 7A GHSA Playoffs after the Trojans defeated Harrison 54-14 last week.

ICYMI: Following Georgia visit, ’26 OL talks Alabama commitment status (On3+)

No. 1 Interior OL Casey PoeLindale High School (Texas): Lindale (7-4; 5-1 in district play) has a road playoff game at Iowa Colony (11-0) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is a second-round matchup in the 2023 4A D1 UIL Texas Football State Championships.

Lindale defeated Vidor 49-28 a week ago.

Top 100 DL Jeremiah Beaman, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker High School: Parker (10-1; 6-0 in region play) has a neutral site game against Oxford (9-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the second round of the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs.

Parker won 62-14 against Mae Jemison in their first round playoff game.

Top 100 S Peyton WoodyardBellflower (Calif.), St. John Bosco High School: The Braves (10-1; 5-0 in league play) will have a home game against Centennial (9-2) in the 2023 Division 1 CIF Southern Section Football Playoff semifinals. That game will take place on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

St. John Bosco defeated San Clemente 35-10 in the quarterfinals.

Top 100 CB Zabien Brown, Santa Ana (Calif.), Mater Dei High School: Mater Dei (10-1; 4-1 in league play) will host Sierra Canyon (11-0) in the 2023 Division 1 CIF Southern Section Football Playoff semifinals. That will also be on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

If Mater Dei and St. John Bosco both win, they will face off against each other in the championship game.

Four-star LB Sterling Dixon, Spanish Fort (Ala.) High School: Spanish Fort (9-2; 7-1 in region play) will have a neutral site game against Pike Road (9-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the second round of the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs.

The Toros shut out Bessemer City 28-0 last week.

Four-star WR Rico Scott, Harrisburg (Pa.), Bishop McDevitt High School: The Crusaders (11-0; 7-0 in conference play) hosts Lampeter-Strasburg (9-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the first round of the 2023 4A PIAA Football Championships.

Four-star WR Amari Jefferson, Chattanooga (Tenn.), Baylor High School: Baylor School (9-2 overall; 4-1 in district play) has a home playoff game versus Knoxville Catholic (7-5) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the semifinals of the Division II Class 3A TSSAA Football Playoffs.

Baylor School defeated Christian Brothers 49-7 a week ago after earning a first round bye.

Four-star interior OL Joseph Ionata, Clearwater (Fla.), Calvary Christian Academy: Calvary Christian (9-2; 3-0 in district play) has a home game against Clearwater (7-4) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. This is the regional semifinals of the 2023 2M FHSAA Football State Championships.

Calvary Christian beat Lakewood 56-28 in last week’s playoff game.

Four-star DB Jameer Grimsley, Tampa (Fla.), Catholic: Tampa Catholic High School (5-5; 1-1 in district play) has a road playoff game at Berkeley Prep (9-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the regional semifinals of the 2023 2M FHSAA Football State Championships.

In their road playoff game at Robinson last week, Tampa Catholic came out on top 35-7.

DB Red Morgan and DL Isaia Faga, Phenix City (Ala.) Central High School: The Red Devils (10-0; 8-0 in region play) have a neutral site matchup with Auburn (9-2) in the second round of the 2023 7A AHSAA Football Playoffs. That game will be on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

The Red Devils defeated Davidson 63-21 last week.

Three-star S Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., Gadsden (Ala.) City High School: Gadsden City (8-3; 5-0 in region play) hosts Hartselle (9-2) on Friday in the second round of the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Gadsden City beat Gardendale 44-16 last Friday.

Three-star LB Quinton Reese, Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay High School: Ramsay (9-2; 7-0 in region play) plays host to Leeds (9-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the second round of the 2023 5A AHSAA Football Playoffs.

Ramsay shut out West Point 50-0 in their first round playoff game.

2025 Alabama Commitments

2025 DL Antonio Coleman and Five-Star Plus+ WR Ryan Williams, Saraland High School in Alabama: Saraland (11-0; 8-0 in region play) has a neutral site playoff matchup with Briarwood Christian (6-5) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is their second game of the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs.

The Spartans defeated McAdory 54-15 in the first round.

2025 Five-Star WR Jaime Ffrench, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin High School: Mandarin (8-3; 2-0 in district play) travels to Lake Mary (10-1) for a Friday night game, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. This is the second round of the 2023 4M FHSAA Football State Championships.

Mandarin beat the previously unbeaten Winter Park Wildcats 29-16 last week.

2025 Four-Star OL Dontrell Glover, Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes: Langston Hughes (9-2; 6-1 in region play) has a road game at Rome (10-1) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the second round of the 2023 6A GHSA Football Playoffs.

Langston Hughes defeated North Forsyth 41-7 last week in the first round of the playoffs.

2025 Four-Star RB Anthony Rogers, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy: IMG Academy (8-0) will have their season finale tonight at home versus St. Frances Academy. Kickoff for that one is set for 7:00 p.m.

The Ascenders do not partake in postseason play.

Alabama commitments whose seasons have concluded: Cayden Jones, Jay Lindsey, Julian Sayin, Justin Okoronkwo, William Sanders, and ’25 OL Mason Short and ’25 LB Myles Johnson (torn ACL suffered in June).
