Following the Future: Alabama commits in playoff action
10 future Alabama football players are still taking part in postseason play in late November/early December. Three of them are slated to participate in their classification’s state championship games in the coming days. This Friday, a pair of Crimson Tide commitments will also face off against each other in the playoffs for a second consecutive week.

Four-star WR Amari Jefferson, Chattanooga (Tenn.), Baylor High School: Baylor School (10-2; 4-1 in district play) has their final game of the season on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. The Red Raiders will face off against McCallie High School (11-1) in Chattanooga.
This is the championship game of the Division II Class 3A TSSAA Football Playoffs. It is a rematch of a Sept. 29 matchup between the two schools, in which McCallie won 34-31 at home.
Top 100 DL Jeremiah Beaman, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker High School and No. 1 ATH Jaylen Mbakwe, Clay-Chalkville High School of Pinson (Ala.): For the second straight week, a pair of Alabama commitments will face off in the playoffs. Birmingham-area prospects Jeremiah Beaman (Parker High School) and Jaylen Mbakwe (Clay-Chalkville) will face off on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

This is a final four meeting in the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs. Parker comes into this game with a 12-1 overall record (6-0 in region play), while Clay-Chalkville is 12-0 overall (6-0 in region play).
Four-star WR Rico Scott, Harrisburg (Pa.), Bishop McDevitt High School: The Crusaders (13-0; 7-0 in conference play) has a road game at Dallas High School (14-0) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the semifinals of the 2023 4A PIAA Football Championships.
Bishop McDevitt defeated Manheim Central 23-17 last week.
Three-star LB Quinton Reese, Birmingham (Ala.) Ramsay High School: Ramsay (11-2; 7-0 in region play) has a road game at Guntersville (11-1) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. This is the semifinals of the 2023 5A AHSAA Football Playoffs.
Ramsay beat Moody 40-27 in their third-round playoff game.
3-2-1: Alabama eyeing top three finish in ’24 class (On3+)
2025 DL Antonio Coleman and Five-Star Plus+ WR Ryan Williams, Saraland High School in Alabama: Saraland High School (13-0; 8-0 in region play) faces off against Pike Road High School (11-2) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Spartans have won their three playoff games by an average of nearly 29 points per game.

This is also a final four meeting in the 2023 6A AHSAA Football Playoffs. If Saraland wins, they’ll take on Clay-Chalkville or Parker HS in the state championship.
2025 Five-Star WR Jaime Ffrench, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin High School: Mandarin High School (10-3; 2-0 in district play) faces off against Monarch (11-2) in the final four of the 2023 4M FHSAA Football State Championships. That game will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Ffrench had eight receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown in Mandarin’s 28-24 win over Seminole last week.
*** DB Red Morgan and DL Isaia Faga, Phenix City (Ala.) Central High School: The Red Devils (12-0; 8-0 in region play) will take on Thompson High School (11-1) next Wednesday in the 2023 7A AHSAA Football Playoffs. This will be a state championship matchup and one of the most anticipated high school football games in Alabama this season.
Central HS defeated Mary G. Montgomery 21-7 on the road last week.
Alabama commitments whose seasons have concluded: Caleb Odom, Casey Poe, Cayden Jones, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr, Jay Lindsey, Jameer Grimsley, Joseph Ionata, Julian Sayin, Justin Okoronkwo, Peyton Woodyard, Sterling Dixon, and William Sanders. Class of 2025 commits Anthony Rogers, Dontrell Glover, Mason Short, Myles Johnson, and Zion Grady are all done with their junior seasons, as well as 2026 pledge Zykie Helton.
2024 cornerback Zabien Brown and his team at Mater Dei High School won the state championship last week.
