Former Alabama OL D.J. Fluker plans to work out at Pro Day
Wide receiver Slade Bolden won’t be the only former Alabama player to work out at the team’s Pro Day on Thursday afternoon. According to sources close to BamaInsider, offensive lineman D.J. Fluker will also participate in hopes of landing another opportunity in the NFL.
After being listed at 339 pounds on rosters ever since his arrival in the NFL in 2013, Fluker now checks in at 330 pounds. That weight loss should help his cause, especially with him now being 32 years old. We already know that he’s a good locker room presence, too. I wouldn’t be shocked at all if he were to get another opportunity.
Fluker was selected by the then San Diego Chargers with the No. 11 overall pick during the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons (2013-16) with the franchise. After starting 31 games in his first two years at right tackle, the Chargers moved him to right tackle prior to the 2015 season. Fluker then went on to start another 28 games there before being released in March of 2017.
From there, he latched on with the Giants.
He played in nine games with six starts before a toe injury ended his year prematurely. Fluker also spent two years as a spot starter with the Seahawks (2018-19) before spending the 2020 season with the Ravens. The 2021 season was a game of musical chairs for him, as he had brief stints with three teams: Dolphins, Raiders and Jaguars.

Now, Fluker is hoping to get another shot after not playing in 2022.
On Monday morning, we also got word that Bolden would be running routes for projected top-10 pick Bryce Young at Alabama’s Pro Day. That news was first broken by Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network and has since been confirmed by BamaInsider.
After signing with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft, Bolden spent almost four months with the franchise before landing on injured reserve in late August. The former Alabama receiver was then released on Oct. 18, 2022 and has been looking for work ever since. He’s already had a workout with the Patriots.
Hopefully, a good showing on Thursday can land him another opportunity as well.
