Kadyn Proctor plans to re-enter transfer portal, return to Alabama
Former Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, who transferred to Iowa, plans to re-enter the transfer portal when the spring window opens, he told Hayes Fawcett of On3.
BamaOnLine publisher Tim Watts reported a return to the Crimson Tide is likely for Proctor.
*** UPDATE: Proctor informed Hayes Fawcett he will re-enroll at Alabama later this spring.
On Tuesday evening, after the news, Proctor posted “I’m back” on his Instagram story.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz also confirmed the decision in the following statement, “It is unfortunate that Kadyn (Proctor) has informed us of his intentions to leave our program today. We wish him well in the future.”
As a true freshman, Proctor played in and started all 14 games at left tackle for Alabama last season. The 6-foot-7, 360-pounder was selected to the All-SEC Freshman Team.
Proctor was the third Crimson Tide offensive lineman to transfer since December, and with right tackle JC Latham also entering the NFL draft, Alabama was faced with replacing three starters. To start spring drills, the Tide only had four scholarship tackles on its roster.

But now with him set to return to Alabama, help is on the way back to Tuscaloosa, Ala. He will be working in a new offense and under a new offensive staff with head coach Kalen DeBoer taking over since he left, but Proctor will be the most experienced tackle on the team.
A Des Moines, Iowa, native, Proctor was a Five-Star Plus player in the 2023 recruiting class, per the On3 Industry Rankings, and was considered the nation’s No. 9 overall prospect.
