Germie Bernard, former Washington Husky wide receiver, did not need a long time to decide where he will be heading for the next stop of his college journey.

On Monday, it was reported that Bernard was planning to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. An official visit to Alabama was later set up — as reported by BamaOnLine’s Tim Watts — for this upcoming weekend. Bernard committed to his former coaching staff from Washington on Sunday following his visit.

This is another key addition for Alabama via the portal. This week, the Crimson Tide have already up commitments from former Washington quarterback Austin Mack and offensive lineman Parker Brailsford.

They also hosted cornerback Jabbar Muhammad on campus this weekend for an official visit.

An On300 prospect in the Class of 2022, Bernard originally committed to and signed with the Washington Huskies. He was later granted a release from his National Letter of Intent, and was enrolled at Michigan State by January 2022. 11 months later, Bernard entered the Transfer Portal and recommitted to Washington.

Bernard has played in 26 games over the past couple of years. He will have two years of eligibility remaining when he gets to Alabama. Bernard will also have immediate eligibility despite this being his second time transfering.

In high school, Bernard was the No. 25 wide receiver according to the 2022 On300. The Las Vegas, Liberty High School, product checked in as the No. 170 overall recruit and No. 4 player in the state of Nevada, per On3.
