Fourteen football players among Alabama Athletics' 35 winter graduates
A total of 35 Crimson Tide student-athletes are slated to receive diplomas this weekend during The University of Alabama’s winter commencement, which will take place Saturday in Coleman Coliseum. The list includes members from the 2020 national championship football team, five All-Americans and student-athletes that have won Southeastern Conference titles in football, soccer and cross country.
The Crimson Tide is graduating 14 members of its football team, including two from the 2020 national champion team – Jah-Marien Latham and Malachi Moore – as all 14 student-athletes contributed to at least one of three SEC Championships (2020, 2021, 2023). In addition to Moore, Tyler Booker was named an All-American while Kneeland Hibbett and Jalen Milroe were named to All-SEC teams. They will earn their degrees alongside MJ Chirgwin, CJ Dippre, Tim Keenan III, Kendrick Law, Coby McNeal, Damon Payne Jr., Ty Simpson and Kade Wehby.
Five members of the soccer squad – Carys Hall, Kate Henderson, Nedya Sawan, Gessica Skorka and Brooke Steere – earn their degrees in December. Skorka, an All-American and two-time College Sports Communicator Academic All-American, along with Henderson, Hall and Steere were members of Alabama’s historic 2022 College Cup run and helped the Tide claim its first-ever SEC regular season title. Additionally, graduate transfer Sawan claimed her third CSC Academic All-District honor and helped lead UA to its sixth consecutive SEC Tournament appearance.
Lilly Hudson, a four-time All-American, three-time Scholastic All-American and an All-SEC gymnast, will earn her diploma alongside teammate and fellow three-time Scholastic All-American Corinne Bunagan. Additionally, seven-time All-American and All-SEC recipient Kaique Alves (men’s swimming) and All-American Megan Albamonti (women’s track) will earn their degrees.
