Friday Night Lights: Keep track of Alabama commits in action

Another Friday, another slate of high school games featuring future members of Alabama’s football program.

This will be an exciting week of high school football, especially with two future commitments playing against each other later today. A couple of commits have already taken the field this week, with one putting forth yet another solid performance in the JuCo ranks.

Where Alabama commitments will be playing this week

2023 Commitments (** Note: WR Cole Adams and TE Ty Lockwood are both out for the season due to injuries)

S Bray Hubbard — Ocean Springs will host Pascagoula (7:00 p.m. Central)

S Caleb Downs — Mill Creek travels to Buford for a matchup between undefeated teams (6:30 p.m. Central)

K Conor Talty — St. Rita has a road game at Providence Catholic (7:30 p.m. Central)

QB Dylan Lonergan — Brookwood travels to Newton (6:30 p.m. Central)

DL Edric Hill — North Kansas City hosts Fort Osage tonight (7:00 p.m. Central)

QB Eli Holstein — Zachary has a home game against Scotlandville (7:00 p.m. Central)

DL Hunter Osborne — Hewitt-Trussville travels to Spain Park tonight (7:00 p.m. Central)

WR Jalen Hale — Longview plays on the road at North Mesquite (7:30 p.m. Central)

DL Jordan Renaud — Tyler Legacy has a road matchup at Horn (7:00 p.m. Central)

RB Justice Haynes — As noted above, Buford plays host to Mill Creek tonight

WR Malik Benson — BYE

OL Miles McVay — East Saint Louis will host Edwardsville tonight (7:00 p.m. Central)

OL Olaus Alinen — The Loomis Chaffee School will be on the road at Deerfield Academy on Saturday (1:30 p.m. Central)

OL Raymond Pulido — Apple Valley hosts Hesperia tonight (9:00 p.m. Central)

RB Richard Young — Lehigh will have a home game against Charlotte (6:00 p.m. Central)

OL Ryqueze McElderry — Anniston travels to Talladega High School (7:00 p.m. Central)

S Tony Mitchell — Thompson will be on the road at Tuscaloosa County (7:00 p.m. Central)

EDGE Yhonzae Pierre — Eufaula hosts Rehobeth High tonight (7:00 p.m. Central)

OL Wilkin Formby — Northridge has a home game against Hueytown (7:00 p.m. Central)

DB Jaylen Mbakwe — Clay-Chalkville hosts Oxford tonight (7:00 p.m. Central)

Jahlil Hurley: Florence High School has now won five straight games following a 42-6 victory over Grissom. The Falcons advance to 7-2 on the season with their season finale being next week’s game versus Sparkman.

Justin Jefferson: The Alabama JuCo linebacker commit was once again solid in his team’s 24-14 win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College. Jefferson led his team with 10 total tackles, his fourth double-digit tackle game of the season.

On the year, Jefferson has 68 total tackles, one fumble recovery, an interception, and two pass breakups. Pearl River Community College now sits at 4-3 with two more regular season games left to go.
