TAMPA, Fla. – Two Alabama players aren’t ready to reveal what they’ll do this offseason.

After the Crimson Tide’s bowl practice at Berkeley Preparatory School, wide receiver Germie Bernard and defensive lineman Jah-Marien Latham were asked if they have decided whether they will return to Tuscaloosa in 2025. Both players did not have definitive answers.

“I’ve just really been focused on the game,” Bernard said. “I really haven’t given it too much thought. But after the season, I’ll make my decision.”

Latham added, “I have given some thought to it, but that’s something that we’ll see what happens after the bowl game.”

In his first year at Alabama, Bernard has appeared in and started all 12 of the Crimson Tide’s games during the 2024 season. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound receiver leads Alabama in receptions with 46 and has turned those in 714 yards, which are both career highs. He has also scored three total touchdowns (2 receiving, 1 rushing) as he has carried the ball four times for 37 yards. Bernard’s biggest game in a crimson uniform was his most recent one, as he recorded the first 100-yard game of his career (111) in an Iron Bowl win over Auburn.

Latham is listed as a redshirt senior, but because he didn’t play in 2020 and only appeared in four games in 2021, he could return to college for a sixth season. The veteran has played in all 12 of Alabama’s regular-season games this season and started 11 as he stepped into the new Bandit role in the Crimson Tide defense. Latham has recorded 27 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and three quarterback hurries as a fifth-year senior. Also playing some edge rusher at the Wolf position, Latham has played in 42 career games while at Alabama.

The Crimson Tide will face Michigan in the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 31 (11 a.m. CT on ESPN). The hard deadline for players to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft is Jan. 15.
