The Alabama men’s basketball team begins NCAA Tournament play tomorrow in Cleveland.

The Crimson Tide (25-8, 13-5 SEC) is a No. 2 seed in the East Region and will face 15-seed Robert Morris in the tournament’s first round on Friday, March 21. Alabama and the Colonials have only ever faced off once before, with the former claiming a win 11 years ago.

Robert Morris, the Horizon League champion, has won 10 straight games entering the game against the Tide. The Colonials are led by Bessemer, Ala., native Kam Woods, who averages 15.1 points and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 37.9 percent from the floor.

Alabama capped the regular season by defeating No. 1 overall seed Auburn on the road and then dismantled a short-handed Kentucky team to begin SEC Tournament play. The Tide then lost to Florida, another No. 1 seed, in the semifinals in Nashville. Senior forward Grant Nelson suffered a knee injury in the loss and is questionable for this matchup.

Friday morning’s game will mark the 25th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, with the Crimson Tide owning a 27-24 (.529) record. UA is coming off the program’s first Final Four and has made the big dance five straight years under head coach Nate Oats.
