The Alabama basketball team will be back on the hardwood on Thursday night to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in the second round of the 2022 SEC Tournament. These two teams have already played once this season, as the Crimson Tide came away from Nashville with a 74-72 victory back in late February.

Since then, Alabama (19-12, 9-9 SEC) has two of its last three games. The last regular-season matchup was an 80-77 overtime loss to LSU on the road, which brought the team’s league record to an even 9-9. Can the Tide get back on track against Scottie Pippen Jr. and the rest of the Commodores?

Vanderbilt (16-15, 7-11 SEC) has already played one game in the SEC Tournament.

On Wednesday, they defeated the Georgia Bulldogs soundly — and by soundly, I mean the margin was 35 points with a final score of 86-51. Surprisingly enough, Pippen only had 14 points in the contest after averaging over 20 per game, but that was the result of the game quickly getting lopsided.
