Alabama football is about to find itself in a tough three-game SEC stretch, which includes contests against Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Mississippi State. Before those games can happen, the Crimson Tide is welcoming Southern Miss to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.

This is the first time that Alabama has played Southern Miss since the 2019 season. Even though it’s only been two years, a lot has changed — for both of these teams — since then.

Tua Tagovailoa was the starting quarterback back then. Against the Golden Eagles, the former star signal-caller completed 17 of his 21 pass attempts (81%) for 293 yards and five touchdowns.

Najee Harris was the team’s leading rusher with 110 yards on only 14 carries. The four leading receivers were Henry Ruggs, Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle and DeVonta Smith. Ruggs and Jeudy combined for 244 yards and four touchdowns on 10 receptions, averaging almost 25 yards per catch.
