TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — No. 4 Alabama will look to start the 2024 season 2-0 as it plays host to South Florida at home on Saturday night in Week 2 of the college football season.

The game will feature the official renaming of Alabama’s home stadium to Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, to honor recently retired head coach Nick Saban, who won six national championships over 17 years with the Crimson Tide.

This will be the third meeting all-time between these two schools, with Alabama leading the series 2-0. It’s also the second season in a row the two teams have played. Last season, Alabama beat South Florida on the road at Raymond James Stadium 17-3, a game that was much tighter than anyone expected. This will also be the first time Kalen DeBoer has ever faced South Florida in his head coaching career.

This game is the second in a 2-for-1 series between the two schools, which will wrap up with another game in Bryant-Denny in Week 2 of the 2026 season.
