After beating Arkansas on the road on Saturday night, No. 2 Alabama stayed out west and flew directly to Austin in preparation for its Tuesday night game against Texas.
The game will be the first meeting between the two schools since Texas joined the SEC. The two schools have only met 13 total times in the series, with Alabama’s last win coming back in 1971.
The Crimson Tide currently sits at 20-3 on the season and tied for first place in the SEC with a 9-1 league record. Alabama is ranked No. 2 in the AP Poll and No. 1 in the Coaches Poll this week, having steadily climbed in the polls with its stellar performances throughout conference play.
Texas is led by freshman Tre Johnson, a projected one-and-done NBA Draft pick and the leading scorer in the entire SEC. The Longhorns are 15-9 overall with a 4-7 record in league play, having lost three of their last four.
It will be Alabama’s first game at the Moody Center, which was officially opened as Texas’ new home arena in 2022.
