Alabama is looking to bounce back in a big way on Saturday. The Crimson Tide, coming off a loss at home to No. 21 Ole Miss, will enter Rupp Arena in an attempt to take down 8th-ranked Kentucky.

The Wildcats in year one under head coach Mark Pope have been a bit of an anomaly. Rebuilding the entire roster in response to the mass exodus in the wake of John Calipari‘s move to Arkansas, Kentucky picked up some impressive non-conference wins over Duke and Gonzaga, but lost some tough games to Clemson and Ohio State.

In SEC play, the Wildcats sit at 3-1, having beaten Florida, Mississippi State and Texas A&M, but losing to Georgia. Alabama also comes into this game with a 3-1 league record, meaning the winner will position itself right in the thick of the league title conversation early on in this SEC slate.

Kentucky has an electric offense, ranking No. 2 nationally in offensive efficiency per KenPom and shooting near 37 percent from 3-point range as a team. The Wildcat defense is another story, currently ranking No. 76 nationally, allowing over 1.0 points per possession on the season. It’s a pretty similar analytical profile to last season’s Alabama team.

Alabama is searching for its first win in Rupp Arena since the 2020-21 season. With a better defense this season, the Tide will certainly be looking to avoid a repeat of last season’s trip to Lexington when the Wildcats scored a ridiculous 117 points in a blowout win.

This top-10 matchup will be the 11 a.m. CT tipoff on ESPN.
