No. 5 Alabama basketball has a massive game on deck this weekend, taking its 2-0 SEC record into a hostile environment to take on No. 10 Texas A&M.

Both the Crimson Tide and the Aggies have started the season with an undefeated record in conference play. Alabama beat Oklahoma by 28 at home and South Carolina by 20 on the road through the first week of league play, while Texas A&M beat Texas by 20 at home and beat Oklahoma by two on the road.

These two teams have a number of common opponents outside of just Oklahoma. Both teams lost to Oregon, both teams beat Creighton and Rutgers, and Alabama lost to Purdue while the Aggies beat the Boilermakers in non-conference play.

Something to monitor in this game is the status of star Texas A&M guard Wade Taylor IV. He missed the Aggies’ game against Oklahoma on Wednesday night.

Outside of the newcomers to the conference in Texas and Oklahoma, Texas A&M’s Reed Arena is the only SEC arena Alabama head coach Nate Oats has not won in. Alabama has only played in College Station once during Oats’ tenure, losing the regular season finale at the end of the 2023 season once the Tide had already locked up the regular season league title.

This top-10 matchup will tip off at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
