No. 5 Alabama basketball will be back in action on Sunday to take on South Dakota State, its final non-conference game of the season.

The Crimson Tide enters this game with a 10-2 record on the year, currently holding three Quad 1 victories on the season after playing an incredibly tough non-conference schedule. The resume is up there with some of the best in the country, and has positioned Alabama for a very strong NCAA Tournament seed if it performs well in conference play.

South Dakota State is a program Alabama has played multiple times before during Nate Oats‘ tenure, and has consistently been one of the better mid-major programs out there. The Jackrabbits have made two of the last three NCAA Tournaments and been the best program in the Summit League in that timeframe.

Coming into this game, South Dakota State has a 9-5 record, its best win coming against McNeese, an opponent Alabama faced earlier this season. They currently rank No. 119 in KenPom, the second highest in their league.

Oats has mentioned multiple times throughout the last few weeks his desire to trim down Alabama’s rotation entering conference play. This game will be his last opportunity to experiment with different lineups as he looks to find his best 9-10 players to lean on for the SEC schedule.

The game between Alabama and South Dakota State will tip off at 2 p.m. CT and will air on SEC Network+.
