No. 7 Alabama is down its final road game of the regular season. The Crimson Tide will travel to Norman for just the second time ever to take on another blue blood program, the Oklahoma Sooners.
In its first season in the SEC, Oklahoma has struggled to establish itself as any kind of force in the conference. The Sooners sit at 5-5 on the season, with a brutal 1-5 mark in conference play. Oklahoma has lost four of its last five games, the lone win in that stretch coming against FCS opponent Maine.
Alabama has been climbing in the College Football Playoff rankings every week since their release, and is starting to play its best football towards the end of the year. The Crimson Tide is on a 3-game win streak since its Oct. 19 loss to Tennessee, with a combined score over those three games of 128-20.
This will be head coach Kalen DeBoer‘s first meeting with Oklahoma, and Sooners head coach Brent Venables‘ first meeting with Alabama since facing the Crimson Tide in the CFP for four straight years while he was the defensive coordinator at Clemson.
The only other time Alabama has played a game in Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium was back in 2002, a game the Crimson Tide lost 37-27.
