Alabama is gearing up for their third junior day of the year. Multiple five-stars, some additional top-100 players, and a handful of in-state prospects will be in attendance for Saturday’s event.

Birmingham (Ala.) Parker High’s Naeem Offord, who was offered by Alabama after visiting on Jan. 14, is ready to return to Tuscaloosa.

“Going around and trying to get a bond with the coaches,” Offord told BamaInsider of what he’s looking forward to the most. “They’re top tier right now. They communicate with me. [Travaris Robinson], he communicates with me. Coach [Freddie] Roach, that’s my guy… we talk a lot.”

Offord enjoyed his previous junior day visit with the Crimson, particularly because of his time with Robinson in their film session.

The two are continuing to build upon their bond with each other.

“That’s a good dude,” Offord said of Robinson. “All we do is crack jokes. Him and I have a good bond. Him and I are like Batman and Robin.”

Naeem Offord had previously spoken with now Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele

Although he’s yet to speak with him since he was hired by Alabama, Offord also told us that he is familiar with new defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.

Steele previously spoke with Offord following a stop that he made at Parker High in the past.

“He came up to my school,” Offord said. “He’s a good dude. He tells you some real life stuff, not just about football. He’ll try to get you to commit, too. As a coach, [I think of] development.”

When asked what first comes to mind to when he thinks of Alabama, Offord responded, “dominant.” Part of the reason why is that Nick Saban‘s secondary is filled with future NFL talent on a yearly basis.

“We obviously know he’s one of the best college football coaches in history,” Offord said of Saban. “He backs it up. He knows how to operate, he knows how this college stuff goes, and he sends folks to the league.”

Along with heading out to Alabama, Offord is expected to visit Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, and Tennessee this spring. He has also been on the camp circuit, earning the No. 6 overall performer by On3 following last weekend’s Under Armour Next All-America Camp in Atlanta.
