Jalen Milroe, Dallas Turner named semifinalists for Maxwell, Bednarik awards
Alabama’s Jalen Milroe and Dallas Turner each earned semifinalist recognition by the Maxwell Football Club, the organization announced Monday morning. Milroe was named a semifinalist for the Maxwell, while Turner was a part of the semifinalist list for the Bednarik.
Milroe is one of 17 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, presented annually to the nation’s top offensive player. Turner is part of a group of 20 semifinalists for the Bednarik Award, which is given to college football’s top defensive player. Finalists for both honors will be named on Nov. 28 with the 2023 winners announced live on ESPN as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 4.
Alabama has had five Maxwell winners, including AJ McCarron (2013), Derrick Henry (2015), Tua Tagovailoa (2018), DeVonta Smith (2020) and Bryce Young (2021). The Crimson Tide also has three Bednarik winners in its history with Jonathan Allen (2016), Minkah Fitzpatrick (2017) and Will Anderson Jr. (2022) all taking home the hardware.

- Completing 65.2 percent of his passes on 129-of-198 with 2,070 yards and 16 touchdowns compared to six interceptions

Bednarik Award Semifinalist
Dallas Turner
- An imposing presence off the edge for the Crimson Tide
- Leads UA with 10.5 tackles for loss (-69 yards) and seven sacks (-55 yards)
- Totaled 39 tackles overall while contributing a team-high 11 quarterback hurries to go with two forced fumbles and a pass breakup
