Jalen Milroe tabbed as semifinalist for Walter Camp Player of the Year
Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced Wednesday.
Milroe is one of 20 semifinalists for the Walter Camp, presented to the top college football player in the country. Three finalists will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 26 before the 58th recipient of the honor is announced during the ESPN College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 12. Alabama has seen three of its own bring home the Walter Camp, including Derrick Henry (2015), Tua Tagovailoa (2018) and DeVonta Smith (2020).

- A true dual-threat quarterback who has been effective with his arm and legs all season
- Totaled 565 yards and 16 touchdowns on 114 rushes while adding 2,046 yards and 13 scores on 149-of-221 passing with only six interceptions
- Averaging 290.1 yards of offense per game, good for fourth in the SEC and 15th nationally
- Responsible for 176 total points and 19.6 points per game to lead the conference and rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in Division I for both categories
- Earned his third semifinalist recognition this year, having already been named a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien and Maxwell earlier this week
