TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama wide receiver Cole Adams exited Saturday’s 34-0 win over Missouri in the first quarter with an injury and did not return to the Homecoming game.

Adams suffered a lower-extremity injury on a first-quarter gain by tight end CJ Dippre, and he needed help off the field from Crimson Tide trainers, unable to put pressure on his left leg. After spending time in the sideline medical tent, Adams was carted to the locker room.

He emerged in street clothes and with his ankle/foot heavily wrapped. He was on crutches.

“Probably gonna be something – we’ll do more evaluation – but it feels like it’s gonna be something that might be a little bit of time where he’ll be missed,” said Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer after the game. “We’ll probably have more on Monday with that, but that’s what it feels like right now.”

On the season, Adams has caught six passes for 94 yards as one of Alabama’s top receivers. He has also returned 11 punts for 58 yards over six games, which both lead the team.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe threw for 215 on 16-of-26 passing. Seven different players caught a pass on Saturday against Missouri with the usual suspects, Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams, leading the group. But Adams’ absence impacted the receiving corps.

“With Cole being out, that moved some guys around,” DeBoer said. “Kobe (Prentice), we got even Ryan in a spot or two probably that he hasn’t practiced much.”

Alabama will have a bye week in Week 10 before traveling to play LSU on Saturday, Nov. 9.
