Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer appeared on ESPN’s College GameDay before the 2025 NFL Draft kicked off Thursday evening and discussed the Crimson Tide’s top prospects who are in Green Bay for the event – Tyler Booker, Jihaad Campbell and Jalen Milroe.

Here is everything DeBoer said in Wisconsin before the first round officially begins.

DeBoer on his best story from his time with Jalen Milroe…

“There’s two things I think about, and one is the first touchdown he scored, where it just looked really easy, and you finally saw, full speed, where people are after him and he might get tackled, as compared to practice, when you know no one’s going to touch him, and how easily he just ran through the hole and found the end zone.

“But I think when I think about Jalen early on, his vehicle was one of the first in the parking lot, and the reputation was, hey, he’ll be here early and just no one could ever beat him in when it came to the players and just the work ethic he puts in is a credit to what his mindset is and how bad he wants it.”

DeBoer on his message to the three Alabama players in the green room…

“These guys are young men that have been through a lot. I think a lot of it’s to enjoy the experience. We always talk about the journey that you’re on and just enjoying it. These moments come. They’ve worked hard for this. To whom much is given, much is required. We have all these little things that we refer to, and this is one of those moments where they get to celebrate with their family and friends everything that they poured into this game that they love. And this is the next phase and the next journey that they get to enjoy.”

DeBoer on how last year’s transition can help them as they enter the NFL…

“There’s choices, right? And I think that’s what your life is. It’s a product of all the choices you make. And these guys had choices to stay or choices to go, and any program in the country would have taken them. And they bet on themselves, and that’s the key moving forward, is that they continue to keep that belief, that betting on themselves, and that they can do it if they just put their minds to it, and that’s what these guys have done.”

Round 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft will begin at 7 p.m. CT on ABC/ESPN/NFL Network.
