TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After missing the previous two games with a head injury, Alabama guard Latrell Wrightsell returned to “some live stuff in” practice on Tuesday, but according to Nate Oats, the Crimson Tide senior is still uncertain for tomorrow’s game at Ole Miss.

“With the head injury stuff, it’s every day you’ve got to re-evaluate and make sure he’s not getting a headache,” Oats said. “He’s still not 100 percent gonna play tomorrow. It’s like every morning, you’ve got to wake up… Clarke (Holter) and Dr. (Craig) Buettner are the ones that are handling that.

“It’d be nice to have him back sooner rather than later, but you also don’t wanna rush him because these things can go on and on if you don’t handle it correctly, in the right manner. We’re gonna do it the right way and not rush him back, but looking forward to getting him back as soon as we can.”

Wrightsell has played in 25 of the Crimson Tide’s games this season, his first with the team after transferring from Cal State Fullerton, and he has been in the starting lineup for each of his last seven games. Wrightsell is averaging 9.0 points per game on the year but averaged 18.5 points during his last two outings and shot 10-of-17 from behind the 3-point line.

Wrightsell is shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 44.5 percent from three and 100 percent from the free-throw line this year. He is currently eighth in the SEC in 3-point percentage. Wrightsell has scored double-digit points in eight games, and the Tide has won all eight.

Freshman forward Jarin Stevenson replaced Wrightsell in the starting lineup the last two games, marking the first of his career. Another freshman, Sam Walters, also stepped up in Wrightsell’s absence, scoring 14 points on a season-high four made threes against Florida.

Alabama plays at Ole Miss on Wednesday, Feb. 28. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
