Live Updates: Alabama 49 vs. Auburn 27 -- FINAL
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Just one regular season game remains for the Alabama Crimson Tide in their 2022 campaign. On Saturday afternoon, Nick Saban and his group will welcome in-state rival Auburn into town for another installment of the Iron Bowl. The Tide (9-2) will look to secure their 15th straight double-digit win season, while the Tigers (5-6) are hoping to be bowl eligible with a major upset today.
Alabama leads the all-time rivalry with a 48-37-1 record. They’ve won 10 of the 15 games they’ve played against Auburn since Saban took over the reins in 2007. Bama is a heavy favorite in this matchup, but the Tigers aren’t necessarily limping into Saturday’s contest. Under interim coach Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, Auburn has won their past two games against Texas A&M and Western Kentucky.

Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide appear to be unlikely to make the College Football Playoff after two close road losses this season. Alabama lost to LSU and Tennessee in the span of three games, but did bounce back with a 30-24 win over Ole Miss in Oxford a couple of weeks ago. They’ll once again be led by quarterback Bryce Young, who is having a solid season that’s been affected by a shoulder injury. Young has thrown for 2,664 yards on 63.8 percent completion, while recording 24 passing touchdowns to just four interceptions.
Today’s kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Central/3:30 p.m. Eastern. The game will air on CBS. There’s still another way to keep up with everything that’s going on. Fourth Quarter Updates:
AUBURN TOUCHDOWN (1:48): Alabama’s onside kick recovery was taken 24 yards down the field by Ja’Corey Brooks. On the second play of the ensuing offensive drive, running back Jahmyr Gibbs scored a 23-yard rushing touchdown. Crimson Tide are up 49-27 over Auburn.
AUBURN FIELD GOAL (2:08): The Crimson Tide gave up a field goal on a drive that should’ve ended close to where it started. On fourth-and-eight on Auburn’s 20-yard line, Alabama was called for a five-yard penalty (12 men on the field). The Tigers would go on to convert that fourth-down attempt and drove it down the field, but they were forced to settle for a 39-yard field goal.
Auburn’s onside kick attempt was unsuccessful.
ALABAMA TURNOVER (6:36): Alabama responded with their own double-digit drive after the Tigers’ 15-play possession. After perfect play all game, quarterback Bryce Young made his first mistake of the day. Auburn’s Owen Pappoe undercut Young’s throw to his intended target and intercepted the pass.
The Tigers took over at their own 18-yard line.
AUBURN FIELD GOAL (12:18): The Tigers had the longest drive by either team of today’s game. Auburn used up 15 plays to drive 64 yards down the field while chewing up over seven minutes off the clock. Their drive, however, ended with a field goal after the Tide came up with a big defensive stop in the red zone.
Third Quarter Updates:
AUBURN TOUCHDOWN (6:38): The Tigers responded to Alabama’s seventh touchdown of the game with one of their own. Running back Jarquez Hunter got Auburn into the red zone with a 45-yard rush on the drive’s fourth play. A few plays later, Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford ran it in from 14 yards away on third-and-goal to cut their deficit to 21 points.
ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (9:57): Bama continued their strong performance on offense with yet another touchdown drive. Young led the way on this drive as he picked up 22 yards on the ground and completed three passes for 34 yards.
Running back Jase McClellan capped off the five-minute drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown.
Second Quarter Updates:
ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (0:54): The Crimson Tide took advantage of yet another Auburn turnover. After the Tigers’ Keionte Scott muffed a punt, Bama took over at the opponent’s 37-yard line. Bryce Young had a 21-yard run on the drive for a key first down. Two plays later, Young completed a pass to Traeshon Holden that went 27 yards for a touchdown.
Tide are up 35-14, and will get the ball to start the second half.
ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (5:39): Alabama has once again gone up 14 points. Behind an eight-play, 92-yard drive, Bama mixed in their running and pass attack for a balanced drive that resulted in Bryce Young’s second touchdown pass of the game. Young found Ja’Corey Brooks for a 32-yard touchdown to put the Tide up 28-14.
AUBURN TOUCHDOWN (9:34): The Tigers moved the ball down the field methodically after Alabama went up two possessions. Auburn took 10 plays to journey 75 yards down the field while chewing up over five minutes off the clock. The drive ended with a 20-yard touchdown pass from Robby Ashford to Ja’Varrius Johnson.

First Quarter Updates:
AUBURN FUMBLE (0:56): Tigers running back Jarquez Hunter had a 10-yard rush, but couldn’t hold on to the ball. Alabama’s DJ Dale recovered it, setting up the Crimson Tide’s offense with the ball at Auburn’s 48-yard line.
ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (1:37): Alabama was efficient on their next touchdown drive of the game. The Tide took the ball 65 yards down the field in eight plays, using just two minutes and 52 seconds. Young completed 5-of-6 passes for 58 yards and a touchdown pass to running back Jase McClellan.
That is 26 straight games with a touchdown pass for Young.

The score is tied at seven apiece after Young’s run.

Cameron Latu and Eli Ricks are, in fact, both dressed out and going through warmups.
Bryce Young, Will Anderson, Henry To’oTo’o and Will Reichard are the captains for today’s game.
Eli Ricks announced as a starter. So was Deontae Lawson. Tyler Steen warming up with first team and announced as a starter.
