OXFORD, Miss. — Nick Saban and his Alabama football program (No. 9 in the College Football Playoff Rankings) are hoping to overcome the road woes that have plagued them in recent weeks. The Crimson Tide are in Oxford on Saturday for a SEC West matchup with the No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels. They come into this game having lost back-to-back road contests at LSU and Tennessee. Bama (7-2; 4-2 conference) is also hoping to avoid their first three-loss season since 2010 (10-3).

Ole Miss arrives into this game with one less loss than Alabama as they currently have an 8-1 record. Their only defeat came at the hands of LSU, which beat him in Baton Rouge by a score of 45-20 on Oct. 22. On the season, the Rebels are averaging 37.44 points and 494.5 yards of offense per game. That’s fairly similar to the Tide, who are averaging 41.78 points and 483.1 yards per contest.

Bama’s goal of making it to the College Football Playoff could be over before kickoff today. LSU is currently in a close one with Arkansas on the road; Alabama would need the Tigers to lose today and to Texas A&M on Nov. 26, and the Tide would need to win out in order to make it to the SEC Championship next month. The Crimson Tide usually have something to play for, so it will be interesting to see how the team looks on Saturday against Ole Miss, especially if LSU wins.

Today’s kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Central/3:30 p.m. Eastern. The game will air on CBS. There’s still another way to keep up with everything that’s going on. Live Updates of Bama at Ole Miss

Fourth Quarter Updates:

OLE MISS TURNOVER ON DOWNS (0:46): The Rebels appeared to be on their way to a potential last-minute touchdown after taking over at their own 25-yard line. Ole Miss drove the ball all the way down to Alabama’s 14-yard line. Bama’s defense withstood the quick drive from the Rebels, stopping them on fourth-and-16 to win the game.

The Tide have now won their first road game since their Oct. 1 victory over Arkansas.

ALABAMA FIELD GOAL (2:23): The Crimson Tide were trying to wind the clock all the way to all zeros following a turnover on downs by the Rebels. Ole Miss’ defense, however, was up to the task as they forced a field goal attempt by Bama.

Will Reichard knocked in his third field goal — this one of 49 yards — of the night to put Alabama up 30-24.

ALABAMA FIELD GOAL (11:19): Alabama’s defense stepped up to the plate following the Tide’s touchdown. Bama forced the Rebels into a three-and-out, allowing them to get the ball at Ole Miss’ 49-yard line. Behind four runs by Jase McClellan for 35 yards, Alabama got the ball to the red zone.

Unfortunately, the Tide could not convert at Ole Miss’ five-yard line. Will Reichard connected on a 23-yard field goal to put Alabama up 27-24.

Third Quarter Updates:

ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (1:23): The Crimson Tide have scored on their third consecutive possession. This latest one came on a 14-play, 75-yard drive that took over six minutes off the clock. Alabama scored on a five-yard touchdown throw from Bryce Young to Ja’Corey Brooks. That’s Young’s third touchdown pass of the game.

OLE MISS TOUCHDOWN (7:28): Ole Miss responded to Bama’s field goal with a touchdown on their next possession. The Rebels marched the ball 75 yards down the field in 11 plays and ended with a three-yard touchdown pass from Jaxson Dart to Jonathan Mingo. Their drive was assisted by a Dallas Turner facemask call on third-and-long near midfield.

ALABAMA FIELD GOAL(12:31): Alabama started their opening drive of the second half on a promising note. They had a first down on their first play, and Ja’Corey Brooks had a 37-yard gain a couple of plays later. The drive stalled at Ole Miss’ 21-yard line, with Will Reichard connecting on a 39-yard field goal to tie the game at 17 apiece.

Second Quarter Updates:

ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (0:08): The Crimson Tide got a fortunate break after going three-and-out. Ole Miss fumbled on the first play of their next possession, giving Alabama the ball at the Rebels’ 23-yard line.

Alabama used up most of the remaining time in the first half before Young hit Cameron Latu for a touchdown strike on third-and-goal. Bama trails 14-17, and will get the ball to start the second half.

OLE MISS TOUCHDOWN (5:09): Ole Miss wasted no time following the turnover by Alabama. The Rebels marched 51 yards down the field in seven plays, which resulted in another one-yard rushing touchdown for Quinshon Judkins.

Lane Kiffin‘s team, which has 222 total yards, goes up 17-7 with just over five minutes left in the first half.

ALABAMA FUMBLE (7:52): Alabama forced the Rebels into a three-and-out, but could not take advantage on their next possession. On their first play after the punt, JoJo Earle caught a pass from Young and was stripped of the ball as he was running to the first down. Ole Miss took over at their own 49-yard line.

ALABAMA TOUCHDOWN (8:55): The Tide had been stagnant on offense all game, but got into a rhythm on their first possession of the second quarter. Bama moved the ball 80 yards down the field in just seven plays and three minutes of time of possession. The drive ended with a perfect strike by Bryce Young to Jermaine Burton for a 19-yard touchdown.

OLE MISS FIELD GOAL (12:11): Following Alabama’s turnover on downs, the Rebels took advantage by getting the ball to the Tide’s four-yard line in just six plays. Fortunately for Bama, they were able to force two incompletions by Jaxson Dart on second and third downs. Ole Miss was forced to settle for a 22-yard field goal.

First Quarter Updates:

ALABAMA TURNOVER ON DOWNS/END OF FIRST QUARTER (0:00): Alabama snapped the ball on fourth-and-one and were unable to be successful on their own side of the field. That ends a first quarter in which the Crimson Tide struggled on both sides of the ball.

Bryce Young was just 3-of-6 for 18 yards, while Bama had only four yards of rushing in the first 15 minutes of play.

OLE MISS TOUCHDOWN (1:43): After failing to convert on fourth down during a red zone try on their first drive, the Rebels were able to hit pay dirt on their third possession of the game. Ole Miss used an 11-play, 68-yard drive to score their first points of the game, which came on a one-yard rushing touchdown by Quinshon Judkins.

Following this drive, the Rebels have seven more first downs than Alabama, 141 more total yards, and nearly five more minutes of time of possession.
