Mark Ingram officially inducted into Alabama Sports Hall of Fame

Former Alabama running back and 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram was officially inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on May 3 at the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel.
Ingram was one of two Alabama alums inducted, along with Roberta Alison Baumgardner.

Ingram starred at Alabama from 2008-10 and was named the storied college football program’s first-ever Heisman winner in 2009. That year, Ingram rushed for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns on 271 carries (6.1 ypc) and caught 32 passes for 334 yards and three more scores. In 2009, he helped the Crimson Tide win its first national championship since the 1992 season.
Ingram saw at least 143 carries in each of his three years in Tuscaloosa. He finished his college career with 3,261 yards and 42 touchdowns. After his junior year, Ingram declared for the 2011 NFL Draft, and the New Orleans Saints selected the back in the first round (Pick 28).

He went on to play 13 seasons in the NFL – 10 with the Saints, two with the Baltimore Ravens and one with the Houston Texans. Named to three Pro Bowls, Ingram finished his professional career with 10,236 total yards (8,111 rushing, 2,125 receiving) and 75 total touchdowns.
In his post-retirement life, Ingram is now a panelist for FOX Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff.
