Mark Sears earns first-team All-SEC recognition from Associated Press

The Associated Press announced its All-SEC awards on Tuesday, and Alabama senior guard Mark Sears was among the 10 players who received first- or second-team recognition.
Sears was one of four guards named first-team All-SEC by the AP. It marks the second season in a row that the Crimson Tide’s leading scorer has earned first-team All-SEC honors.
During the regular season, Sears averaged 19.2 points and 5.0 assists per game in his final year at Alabama. Sears has scored 20 or more points in 18 games this season, including a trio of 30-point performances in SEC play. The Muscle Shoals, Alabama native enters the SEC Tournament ranked No. 7 on the Tide’s all-time scoring list with 1,854 points.
On Monday, Sears also received a first-team All-SEC nod from the league’s 16 head coaches.
