New numbers, other info for Alabama basketball's 2022-23 roster
The Alabama basketball roster for the 2022-23 season is almost complete. Granted, there’s still one scholarship spot left, but that’s why we said almost. We have the new numbers and measurements for the players who are currently on the team, even though the official roster hasn’t been updated to reflect all those number changes yet.
Earlier this week, we got a glimpse at the new numbers for Alabama’s 2022 signing class in a video released by the men’s basketball Twitter account. We also got to see couple of number changes for returning players, including Noah Gurley and Charles Bediako. Gurley is going from No. 0 to No. 4 Meanwhile, Bediako is apparently switching from No. 10 to No. 14.

Update (6/11): Star point guard Jahvon Quinerly, who has worn the No. 13 since arriving at Alabama, will also switch to the No. 5 after Jaden Shackelford entered the 2023 NBA Draft. That news comes from Brett Greenberg with WKRG TV in Mobile, Ala.
With Keon Ellis gone, Bediako made the switch to his old high school number and cleared the path for transfer guard Dominick Welch, a Buffalo native, to wear the No. 10 as a way to honor the 10 victims of a supermarket shooting last month.
Gurley is making the switch to No. 4, the same number he wore at Furman before transferring to Alabama, after Juwan Gary’s departure for Nebraska. That decision from Gurley also creates an opportunity for freshman phenom Jaden Bradley to wear his old high school number.
