NFL Combine photos of Evan Neal show that he's in fantastic shape
Evan Neal is Alabama’s top NFL draft prospect this year. After being a three-year starter at three different positions along the Crimson Tide’s offensive line, the former five-star prospect is ready to take the next level by storm. He looks ready, too.
On Thursday, a couple of photos emerged of Neal.
The first was of him speaking to the media at the 2022 NFL Combine. Neal isn’t expected to take part in the on-field drills, but he’s in Indianapolis going through the other parts of the annual event. He’ll get his on-field workout in when Alabama hosts its own Pro Day next month.
Here’s the photo and caption from Jordan Reid, an NFL draft analyst for ESPN:
“Alabama OT Evan Neal says that he weighed in at 337 pounds prior to the Combine and that his versatility at both guard and tackle taught him a lot,” Reid tweeted on Thursday. “Mentioned that Larry Allen is his favorite player of all-time.”
The other photo doesn’t have a caption. The tweet comes from Duke Mayweather, a consultant for Offensive Line Scouting and Development. It shows a side view of Neal, and let’s just say it’s hard to imagine that Neal weighs 337 pounds right now. Check it out:

As a freshman in 2019, Neal showed up to Alabama at 6-foot-7, 360 pounds. He hovered around that same weight as he started at left guard in his first season and at right tackle in his second. After making the transition to left tackle as a junior, he dropped 10 pounds to get to 350.
Now, it looks like his weight loss journey continues.
Neal is projected to be a top-5 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. It’s even possible that he could hear his name called as early as No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are in need of more protection for second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Neal was a surprising athlete at 350 and 360 pounds. It’s hard to imagine how good he might look at Alabama’s Pro Day after dropping another 10-15 pounds. Coming out of IMG Academy, Neal was a Five-Star Plus talent who was rated as the No. 1 offensive tackle.
